Verrucae: A verruca is a wart that grows on the sole of the foot, and is caused by a virus. Most children come into contact with the virus at the swimming pool. Verrucae don’t usually hurt and aren’t dangerous, and in most cases, eventually disappear on their own. There are however, a number of treatments available from your pharmacy that can help speed the process up - but bear in mind they can take 2-3 months to produce results.

To stop your child passing verrucae on to other children when they go swimming they should wear special ‘verrucae socks’ which you can get from your pharmacy.
Make sure they use their own towel at home so the rest of the family don’t suffer.
